So i follow the steps to upgrade accout and sign up for a monthly sub

dont use paypal butb theres an option : "No PayPal account? Pay using your credit or debit card"
click that link and get : "You need a PayPal account for this purchase. "

Its an whole ordeal getting paypal. I literally have to go to my bank with information.

want to pay witgh VISA

You can set up a username and password and use your credit card or debit card for the payment. You don't have to place money in PayPal at all. The issue here is that we need to be able auto-renew your membership, particularly for monthly memberships, which requires a subscription funded through PayPal. Again, the money source can be your credit or debit card.

We've had some people pay via money order or check or a direct bank transfer, but I have to manually activate the membership. And renewals would have to be done in the same way — it wouldn't be automatic, and I wouldn't be notified, so you'd have to let us know when your membership has expired. For manual subscriptions, we'd want one year or five years to make the whole thing worthwhile and efficient.

If there was another way we could do it with the upgrade system in our forum, I'd go for it. But I don't know of any other way.

I avoid almost anything with auto-renew that costs money because I've had too many problems in the past getting them to stop billing me when I no longer want the service. Is the Paracast Plus a Negative Option Billing plan, or is there the option in advance to pay for only so much time?

It's fairly easy for PayPal. You can check your user preferences for the list of subscriptions, and cancel the ones you don't want. Of course, if you pay us directly, there's no auto renew. When it expires, you can renew — or not.

im a little confused. As i said there is no option to just pay directly. If i click the VISA link i get to a page that says i have to use PayPal

Yes go ahead and set up PayPal but fund it with your Visa. It needs a way to handle recurring payments. The only other way is an annual payment sent directly.

Im not using PayPal. I have to give the bank permission to send money to PayPal , sometimes when you try to transfer money online you get a notification from your bank that more security is needed. Its a security measure. Laws are a bit different in Norway . I have to go to the bank and sign a paper and thats just not worth it. I have used normal VISA payment for other recurring memberships before though. It just withdraws directly from my bank account every month

I understand your situation. The only other way to do it would be to transfer money direct to our bank account or mail us a money order payable to a U.S. bank. I wish we had another way, but I don't know of one right now with our current structure.

A money transfer or sending us payment via mail would require a year's membership ($50 US). Let me know if you wish to have it done that way via a private conversation, and I'll get you details.

i know this is a question more suited to paypal but i have yet to get a response from them on an issue maybe you would have some insight.

I had my card hacked last week and got a new one. Now i only have two reoccuring charges on paypal, one for you; and one for another premium podcast. while i sucessfully added the new card i cannot delete the old one as there are "ongoing tranascations."

I am not really sure what this means both my recent payments cleared about a week ago. Somebody told me that because both are reoccuring accounts in order for the system to accept the card deletion i have to stop the reoccuring payments. even though again the charges come from my checking account not the card attached to it. i suppose having the old card in there does no harm and maybe it's just better to leave it alone but it's just kind of nagging me to have it in there.

btw i know for a fact that i have changed my primary address on the account almost a dozen times yet each time i log on it reverts back to an old non-existent address.

You have to contact PayPal about any issue with your subscriptions. I'm not sure how that's supposed to work if a card gets hacked and is thus cancelled. But if I see a cancellation of your membership, I'll let you know. We are notified when/if a member decides they don't want to continue, from our PayPal account.
