NATO: Political Understanding of Current International Events

Do yourself a favor and listen to this close to an hour and a half podcast with 4 outstanding talking heads regarding our current international situation.

They are an example as to why one can never accept at face value ANYTHING the MSM is reporting as factual when in fact it is opinion bias couched in narrative - nor should we ever take sides in any war.

The layers of psyops is thick on the ground, and the purpose is to have the general populace upset and at each other's throats. That's their aim - not truth, or what is historically 'just'. The layers to this international game are too complex - and fast moving - to be superficially explained by age-old political tropes.

There is really no place for me to post this here on the Paracast as what I am presenting I am hoping will stimulate a discussion about how we 'know' things - not what things are 'true'. I doubt any of us have the background these guys have to suss out the details of the game afoot, but it is fascinating to see how they view the 'purposes' behind an Israel/Gaza war, or the Ukraine war, or a NATO meeting in Ankara, Turkey - who is really 'working' who, and the subtle significance behind what one leader says or doesn't say. Fascinating to watch. Instructive. KEY: Don't take a side, especially in a war. Watch the game. See how all the various narratives peddled have a purpose, play to a particular audience to achieve a particular outcome. Sadly, most often we are being played.

These people are mostly talking whimsical crap as far as I can tell, starting with comparing Washington to Trump ; are you kidding? His movement into Iran was an absolute disaster and still is. There was no strategy, no plans just the ongoing narrative of Iran can't have nuclear weapons but no real way to actually end or control the environment. Instead we now have the Strait of Hormuz still as a quagmire and Iran and Oman looking at a pay per use system which was not in place at all prior to this disaster.

As an ongoing bonus to this waste of lives, money, and the enormous global expense of increased cost of oil and all related goods - pretty much everything, we've seen an absolute disastrous approach to leading and losing a war while Israel has had a free hand in breaking international law and invading Lebanon.

With regards to their general penchant for waxing philosophically and conspiratorially about Ukraine and Russia, their little bits and pieces that have absolutely no specific proof or facts related to what they are talking about. As for Nazism in the Ukraine one could argue there are even more Nazis actively and openly expressing themselves In Donald Trump's America than ever before. Russia uses this as a means to justify their invasion of Ukraine, a country longing for independence as all of Eastern Europe post WWII has tried to claim their nationhood. Russia'a sole goal is to recreate the good ole days of the Soviet Union. They want Ukraine back and any other country they can suck into their border. There is no real substantial Nazi threat in the Ukraine.

If we are going by numbers I would say the United States has the largest contingent of right wing Nazi and white supremacists followed by Germany, Russia and Brasil.

22 million Americans support neo-Nazis, new poll indicates

So should we really be too concerned about creating and promoting a piece of Russian Propaganda that they are using to promote their supposedly "just war" in Ukraine when really they just want control over the land again?

I stopped listening somewhere around their City of London stuff which again, on the pure face of the general facts of existence makes no sense. England has suffered terribly by a bunch of senior citizens who voted for Brexit, and their persistent elections to find new prime ministers all across the political spectrum, demonstrates this is a country that is struggling to find political stability. The city of London was dead long ago.

This discussion of The American System vs. the British System sounds like anti-colonial banter when the clear facts are that capitalism is running wild across the planet to create a billionaire class at the expense of an increasingly more impoverished lower class. Nowhere is this more evident than in America. I would cite Donald Trump's billion dollars made off of crypto currency and selling Bibles and watches as a primary example , while all those who invested in his currencies ended up with a severely devalued product. Why are these obvious facts about America ignored but critiqued in other parts of the world?

If there is a psyops going on it's these kinds of podcasts that obfuscate the real facts regarding the destruction of western values in their own country where individual freedoms of life, liberty and free speech are under persistent assault. This talk from this group is basically an anti-european rant while totally ignoring just how terrible things in America are.

As I commented on YouTube: Next time — Tom should wear the big hat.
And as a bonus just for Paracast readers — he can only have it if he agrees to give his cigar to Susan ( who has to smoke it ) :p

@Burnt State Thank you for your long and considered reply. I've been on a walk-about so am just getting to it. There is a lot in what you wrote - sorry that you didn't find anything compelling. There is a context for what they are saying. I could see coming to it cold might be disorienting.

Much is rooted in history that is not much known, even in the US since that history stopped being taught in US schools by 1910 - but since Trump is resurrecting the American System of Political Economy (Alexander Hamilton) it's the only way to understand what exactly Trump and his Administration are doing. The tension points are now between Sovereigntists (Sovereign Nations) and the Globalists. Its the real war going on and why they are fighting tooth-and-nail with every psyops at their disposal to bring Trump down.

Reference to 'The City of London' has to do with the banks. I'll just give a brief overview but even so the real layers are complex. 'The City of London' is a "major banking hub and a leading global financial centre. It is home to institutions like the Bank of England and the London Stock Exchange, and it hosts large banking activity. The City of London, often referred to as the Square Mile, is the historic core of London and serves as its primary financial district. It is a unique local authority area governed by the City of London Corporation, which has its own mayor, known as the Lord Mayor of London. This area is distinct from the rest of London due to its long history and specific governance structure. The City of London's role as a global banking hub is supported by its deep ties to the UK government, including oversight by the Bank of England and policy coordination through bodies like TheCityUK, which advises on financial sector growth and competitiveness. The City's regulatory and legal infrastructure, such as the presence of the London Stock Exchange and Inns of Court, further strengthens this connection."

Enough said there but as mentioned it's far more complicated - with long twisting historical roots into the Empire - hence the term used "Imperial British System." The American System is rooted in Sovereign nations, industry, production, labor, tariffs, while the British Imperial System is rooted in money, etc.
The city of London was dead long ago.
Not so - it has been very much alive - though it is Trump that is now crushing it. Two dragons on the plain thrashing it out.
This discussion of The American System vs. the British System sounds like anti-colonial banter
Nope, it is an historical journey that has played out for 150 years. Our last American System president was McKinley - he was assassinated for a reason. The creation of the Federal Reserve in the US, the institution of taxation - and the creation of a whole cluster of entities (so-called nations in the Middle East for one) that we are only just seeing the death of. Trump is bringing it all down.
the clear facts are that capitalism is running wild across the planet to create a billionaire class at the expense of an increasingly more impoverished lower class. Nowhere is this more evident than in America.
America is not impoverished. Wealth is flowing. As the European soccer fans discovered. America is wealthy. If the UK were a US state it would rank 51st below Alabama and Mississippi. Canada is in trouble. It's been badly managed. Fifteen years ago I argued the global warming stance - not anymore - it is true a scam. I am no longer a Malthusian - we live in an abundant world, not one of scarcity.

Had the US continued on its trajectory of 'the dumb giant' fighting Europe's wars and basically subsidizing Europe's welfare states, we were headed for bankruptcy, sucked dry. Trump is pulling us back from the precipice. Capitalism is the reason why countries have been lifted out of poverty - China was a prime example of that in the 80s 90s 00s. Crony capitalism is the corruption - not capitalism itself. The American System is not capitalism - it uses capitalism, it is about the mind, about creativity, invention, industry, labor, discovery - freedom to think and do. It's not socialism, not communism. The tension point is between sovereignty, individual and national - against globalist authoritarianism. This is what is playing out on the world stage right now.
If there is a psyops going on it's these kinds of podcasts that obfuscate the real facts regarding the destruction of western values in their own country where individual freedoms of life, liberty and free speech are under persistent assault.
We are very well alert to the destruction of western values taking place from the left - communism is finally showing its face to the light of day, the destruction of the family via feminism, the corruption of biological identity - there's real insanity abroad, courtesy Marxist Activist teachers in our school system. Luckily the US has a vigorous homeschool movement though even that gets subverted by authoritarian state governments. We are working hard to claw back the integrity of our elections.

Life, liberty and free speech have been under attack - especially with covid - but the US is weathering the assault. We are in much better shape than many of the other anglo-sphere nations. If you are yearning for liberty and freedom to speak the US is - for now - one of the last bastions.
This talk from this group is basically an anti-european rant while totally ignoring just how terrible things in America are.
I'm sorry you heard it that way - if it was anything it was a - yes - a condemnation - but also lamentation - of Europe's loss of its western values, its culture, its self-respect, its loss of free speech - the reduction of the native European population into poverty via the unfettered immigration - which always pushes a native population into poverty.

Things are not terrible in the US - we are fighting the same battle everyone else in the world is fighting - against the incursion of Marxism infecting our younger generations, but there is no white supremacy afoot. While there are white supremacist groups in the U.S., they represent a small fraction of the population and are not indicative of the broader American society. And while there are small groups and individuals in the U.S. who identify with neo-Nazi ideologies, the majority of Americans do not support these views. Neo-Nazism exists as a fringe movement, often met with significant opposition from the broader society. We are for the most part - truly - a friendly, joyous people. Don't listen to the media. I don't.

There is hope. Sovereign nations making decisions for the benefit of their own populations. Local industry and national pride of place.

Take these following two short videos in the spirit they are intended - as presenting a different way of looking at the world situation. You don't have to 'believe' just see that there is another lens through which to see the current tumult.

Hamilton, Tariffs & Charlie Kirk: The True American System

Published July 12, 2026: [Video Run Time 13:14] Promethean Overviews

"Did Alexander Hamilton really oppose protectionist tariffs?

"In this episode, Mike Steger examines one of the most debated questions surrounding President Trump's tariff policies by returning to Hamilton's own writings and the founding principles of the American Republic. Drawing from Hamilton's 1782 *The Continentalist No. 5*, his 1791 *Report on Manufactures*, the writings of Benjamin Franklin, Abraham Lincoln, and the legacy of Charlie Kirk, Mike argues that the American System was never simply about economics. It was about developing the human mind, strengthening national industry, and preparing citizens for the responsibilities of self-government.

"From Hamilton's vision for manufacturing to Franklin's understanding of the pursuit of happiness, from Lincoln's conception of human progress to the enduring legacy of Charlie Kirk, this discussion explores why America's economic system was built on moral and civilizational foundations that remain just as relevant today."
