Ok, so I was listening to C2C last night as I do some nights. Especially last night since I couldnt sleep. Ive listened to it for 13 years now and Im not one of the typical listeners, because I dont buy into everything I hear.
Anyway, the guest was on talking about the moon landing hoax. The guest, Bart Sibrel.
I went to his page and saw his credentials,etc. Okay so he's worked for major networks and such and thats fine. Im not gonna sit here and put him down or say "well, i dont believe he worked for those networks."
Here's the problem I had with him:
The host of C2C was taking calls from listeners and the listeners had questions. Well one of the callers had a very heavy spanish accent. I think he said he was from Uruguay. After the caller hung up, Sibrel said something like," well, Im not sure that caller was spanish or he may have been making up that accent."
As the night went on he was always on the defensive, not really wanting to open his mind to other possibilities. I can understand sticking to your guns but to the point of insulting others or insulting the listener, I have a problem with that.
Right after the heavy spanish accent call hung up and Sibrel pretty much insulted the guy. The host spoke up and asked Sibrel, "why do you think that wasnt a real caller?" Sibrel didnt think that someone could actually sound like that. The host said "well I have several hispanic relatives and they sound like that."
I commend the host for admonishing the guest. While Im listening to all this going on, Im thinking to myself,"does this guest not get out every once in a while?"and " There are other people out there that do sound like that Sibrel!"
I wanted to reach though my headphones and just...
Anyway, Im not sure if Mr Biedny will read this, but I know He sticks to his guns but he also listens and asks questions but He doesnt insult the listener or guest and I appreciate that about Dave and Gene. Im not sure if the Paracast will have Sibrel on but Id love to hear Biedny and Sibrel debate this subject or anything having to do with imaging.
Heres my thought:
I think its very important to have a healthy balance of skepticism and open mindedness. If youre one extreme then youll look really stupid.
Im not sure if any of you listened to last nights episode but id like to hear what you thought.
