Attention CenturyLink Customers: Having Download Troubles??

Listeners, I'm presently trying to work through a problem with CenturyLink, my ISP, which impacts downloading our shows from our server. I wonder if any other customers have had similar issues. The problem, which results in severe packet loss (confirmed within the CenturyLink network), means that a one minute download may take 50 minutes, if not longer, on a very fast broadband connection.

If you are a CenturyLink customer and have had similar problems, please let me know the specifics of your connection:

1. Name of ISP.
2. Measured download speed (Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test).
3. Google or Bing "What's My IP" and give me your IP number.

And let me have as many additional details as possible.

Basically, our server is hosted in a huge datacenter, on a gigabit Ethernet port, has a pair-of quad-core Intel Xeon processors, gobs of RAM, and solid state drives. It should be very fast under normal load.

Unfortunately I can't provide any details because I downloaded the latest episode yesterday but it took me 23 minutes to download it and I thought it had something to do with the wifi at the library and never occure to me it could have been tbe host.

It's not the host, which is tied in to several major broadband providers (including Cogent).

The issue I confirmed was in CenturyLink's network. Do you know what ISP your library uses, or what the download speed is?

Now that I know it's an issue I can go down there tonight and try again. I do not have a home network as there are several libraries within 1/2 hour from me.

This problem may be resolved, for reasons too complicated to explain here. If any of you are still experiencing slow downloads of our shows, let us know.
