Kingsbury-01a.png Paul Kingsbury is a Professor of Geography at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia Canada. His research interests include social and spatial theories (especially Lacan and Nietzsche), psychoanalysis, consumption, aesthetics, and paranormal investigation cultures. He is the co-editor of Psychoanalytic Geographies (2014, Routledge with Steve Pile) and Soundscapes of Wellbeing in Popular Music (2014, Routledge with Gavin J. Andrews and Robin Kearns).

In 2015 Paul succeeded in winning a four-year SSHRC ( Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council ) Insight Grant valued at $183,000 for a project called: "Situating the Growth of Paranormal Investigation Cultures: A Critical Study of the Lived Spaces of Organizations and Conferences”.

That's right folks, a bona fide University professor who thinks the cultural aspects of the paranormal are worthy of serious academic study. Now's your chance to ask him some questions. Bear in mind that Professor Kingsbury is studying the cultural aspects of the paranormal from a human geography perspective rather than the paranormal phenomena itself. So the focus is less on what things like ghosts actually are and more on what people tend to believe they are and how that is reflected in their local culture.

Recording is set for Thursday October 4th, 2018, at noon Pacific time.
