    Budd Hopkins on the Paracast

Yes, you're right; and I would be completely wrong to disparage his age or whatever physical issues he might have. Actually, I really appreciated this interview because it was clear that Budd has gone where few others have, and I really respect his research. I thought he did a good job of...

    Budd Hopkins on the Paracast

I agree with urkotic. Hopkins seems sincere, but, in addition to his rambling, chaotic huffing and puffing and confusion, I find it somewhat amusing that he thinks Corso's story is unbelievable, considering the stories he's come out with. He was very hard to listen to.

Dr. Steven Greer --> Here we go ...

I'm not a Greer fan and his droning on and on had me fast-forwarding throughout. And I generally like David's intellect, but his emotional rant after the interview was pretty juvenile. The psychoanalysis of his personality, like the threads "proving" his lies, was just petty and unprofessional...

    5-11-08 Derek Bartholomaus, IIG Interview

David did not frame the question that way; in fact he was interrupted from even framing it. But I believe he did try begin by suggesting a universal intelligence that is not outside of nature or creation (and not an external hand)--a concept that is not understood by Christian fundamentalists or...

    5-11-08 Derek Bartholomaus, IIG Interview

Derek Bartholomaus Bartholomaus did not seem particularly open-minded. He wouldn't even consider David's reconciliation of evolution with universal intelligence; he saw it in terms of traditional narrow-minded God concepts and therefore rejected it before David could even frame the idea, which...

    Friedman on Corso

My feeling about this is that Friedman (like everyone else) has taken his view/hypothosis of the UFO phenomenon as far as the facts and his world-view/state-of-consciousness/limitations will allow him: that is, he can't conceptualize an alien/visitor presence that contradicts his world-view. For...

    WTF Are We Talking About?

A problem with considering labels for an unknown is that we have no way of knowing if general labels are accurate for all sub-categories (extra-terrestrial may not be an accurate concept covering time-travelers or cryptos), but if we make labels so broad as to be all-inclusive, they almost...

23 Mar 2008 Show - Coalition for Freedom of Information

I'm interesting in see how people categorize the various kinds of sightings, experiences, and theories. There are definately some nuts and bolts crafts. Do people feel that they could be interdimensional nuts and bolts crafts as well as ET and other kinds? The "visitations" (and...

23 Mar 2008 Show - Coalition for Freedom of Information

I wasn't planning on listening to this show, not knowing Leslie, and not wanting to see another government "investigation." After the good reviews in this thread I think I'll give a listen tonight. My trepidition is with someone who thinks the government is needed or even important in...

    March 9th - Jacques Vallee!!

Vallee gives lots of examples about the phenomena being reported in many cultures. He's written extensively, and his books are refreshing. I encourage everyone here to read as many as you can before April.

    3.16.08 Episode - Don Ledger

I agree that detail is good when relevant and I don't want him to give a truncated history if there are relevant facts to tell. But I identified with David's impatience in wanting to get to the significant points of the story without all the backstory and meandering.

    William Birnes.

Regarding the substance of William Birnes' interview I finally had a chance to listen to his Corso/UFO Hunter interview, and I was disappointed. Maybe the truth is in there, and if he drank about 10 fewer cups of coffee a day it could come out. But what mostly came out in the interview, was...

We need quotes from our listeners

The Paracast continues the scientifc direction of UFO and paranormal investigation in the tradition of Hynek, Vallee, Wilson, and others. Because mainstream science and media cannot distinguish between intelligence and fraud, it is important to have someone who can. David Biedny's balance of...

    3.16.08 Episode - Don Ledger

My comment about the show is non-substantive: David did a good job trying to keep Ledger somewhat focused without appearing rude. His rambling, meandering speech was extremely frustrating to listen to, and I was almost amazed at David's restraint. The guy must've phoned in after spending all...

    March 9th - Jacques Vallee!!

Jacques Vallee!! Of course Jacques is one of the great minds in the field, and the show was fascinating and Gene and David did a great job. Now that we've covered his biography and basic history, I wonder if we can go into specific cases and more detail about his theories next time. He has...

    William Birnes.

Agreed; it's torture. And that Gene or David do good voice work. Actually the duo-toned robot voice would be an improvement. Having Birnes shorten his spot isn't going to help. "Passionate" isn't the best word to describe his style--hyper is probably closer.

    Brad Steiger Interview

I was really impressed with Brad Steiger, and was happy to hear Gene and Dave give him the respect that I thought he deserved. I appreciate his objectivity and clarity. A double rarity in this field. His one interesting comment was that he doesn't think the federal government has any...

    Peer review....

Good point about the "experts" being the experiencers. But I'm not so sure they would generally make good UFO "scientists." On the other hand, theoretical ufologists (like theoretical physicists) would need to be more than intellectuals, and might not necessarily be good ufo scientists...

    Peer review....

If you can't get Jacques Vallee out of his self-imposed retirement, then I vote for Maccabee.

    Paracast sounds & breaks....

I generally like the cute little segways, but is it possible to have someone else read Bill Birnes' promos? (I know he's a friend, but I have to fast-forward past his whiney self-promotions.)
