Questions for Crystal Skull expert Stephen Mehler

I just listened to this episode today, and I have to say this guy is nuts. "Human thought" can reside in crystal's "point defects"? How? What physical form does a human thought take that is possible to exist outside of the human brain? How is it transmitted from the generating brain to the...

    Leslie Kean episode

Absolutely! that's one of the reasons I like her book, she makes that point so consistently throughout. ---------- Post added at 10:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 PM ---------- How is it meaningless? It is patently obvious once you read her book. There are countless...

    Leslie Kean episode

I just read her book, and when you get near the end, she specifically says that she is agnostic, and takes that term to an extreme in wanting to get the government to move forward. Over and over in the book, she pays service to many of her contributors' opinions in that direction, but ALWAYS...

And there is nothing in that statement to deny the fact that there are atheists who believe in the spiritual side of man. Look at Sam Harris. He is very strong in his statements to that affect, and his investigations into the human brain are an attempt to investigate the scientific basis...

If you haven't experienced the devil we talk about, I'm not surprised, but you COULD read about it sometime. History is replete with sometimes terrible things christians have done, up to and including shooting doctors. But it isn't the people in and of themselves that I and others look at as...

If it wasn't a personal insult, then why append it to the end of a reply to my post?

Actually, the letters reveal that she DID NOT BELIEVE, according to the article, and the book it describes. Her letters reveal that unfortunate fact. Yes, almost everyone has doubts, since we are all intelligent beings. Our modern values and experiences tell us that much of the christian...

What do you want me to say? Such things, and worse, have been happening in Western civilization throughout the reign of christianity and before, so what's your point? People violate social standards all the time. It's why we have jails. So? Do you think that the process is supposed to be...

Had to get the last word in, didn't you? I also note it wasn't notable, just an insult.

Attack on Christianity? and other concepts I have a problem with.

Ok, since you like wikipedia so much, here's a quote: Since Constantine legalized the christian church as the RCC in 324, this means for over a thousand years, the two were synonymous. As I've noted in the other thread, this is getting ridiculous. You are ignorant of the simplest facts...

Ok, I'm tired of wasting time on this. The fact is, the bible is 1700 years old, give or take, various parts are either older or newer, but NONE of these documents are two thousand years old. We don't know who wrote them. We may have names, but there are no contemporaneous documents...

For over a thousand years, there WAS no difference! The RCC WAS christianity! Yes, today there are other sects and denominations, but for the first thousand years or so, they were synonymous. Your wording sure makes it sound as though you were keeping the two separate!

Attack on Christianity? and other concepts I have a problem with.

Plenty of biblical scholars agree that the symbolism of the Eucharist is pure and simply, sacrifice. Christ even says it himself. The RCC says that on their alters, in every Mass, Christ dies again in the physical presence of the bread and wine. Again, you fail to understand your own religion!

Again, you are criticizing Ehrman before you read him or his evidence. Thus, anything you say is not valid, since you are ignorant of his points and evidence. You keep asking for it, but I GAVE it to you. You just discount it without reading it or addressing it.

Not first century, plenty of time for mistakes, and other changes. Oh, and also, just in time for Constantine and Eusibius to publish their versions of it, too in establishing the RCC! You are going to assert that five different documents from different times are going to reconstruct the...

I don't know what dimension YOU come from, but in THIS one, Constantine made christianity the official religion of the Roman empire, and established the Roman Catholic church, which destroyed the old pagan religions by about 600 CE. It then held total sway over Western civilization until the...

I say again, look at his book. He cites numerous sources to show his points, he is not alone. ...and the Dead Sea scrolls do NOT comprise all of the bible, only spare sections of it. He cites examples where the text has changed, too. Read it before you scoff. Oh, and please cite your...

Attack on Christianity? and other concepts I have a problem with.

Yeah, christianity supplanted pagan worship by destroying it completely. Temples, priests, literature, everything. From 600 CE on, it was the death penalty to worship the old gods. That sure isn't assimilation, you are right about that! Holidays were changed into christian holidays...
