    Alien's eyeballs

The "bew88" in my name is random; Fitz is my nickname among the few friends I've been able to keep. :D And no, it's not short for Fitzgerald. I would've disowned my parents.

What if polite species avoid fact-to-face contact as a rule?

And we have our new Paracast Battle Cry! :D

A Show I would like to see

I wonder...where would the first UFO come from? I guess I am asking what do you mean by "created"? Well, I am not asking this right...I mean, how did it start? For what it's worth, I think your idea is worth a thread all its own.

What if polite species avoid fact-to-face contact as a rule?

Or chickens. Or deer. Or horror-of-horror: Cats. We'd have a lot of explaining to do. We're doomed.

    Alien's eyeballs

:D This controversy is trivial compared to some I've had with my wife about what to have for breakfast.

    Alien's eyeballs

Gareth will speak for himself, but the question for me is not whether the purported creatures have organs that look like eyes or whether they are eyes. The question is whether we should assume they are eyes simply because they look like our eyes. Or ever use the phrase "the only possibility"...

    Dave ?

I can see why, this guy's hilarious. I think I've heard you mention him on the show, but I had no idea who he was. Anyway, thanks.

    Red beam from UFO footage

Well, is there any way we can rule out an optical artifact? The accent is throwing me a little...are they acknowledging the beam themselves? I mean, is it clear they are seeing the beam? At one point I can make out comments about colors.

    Assumptions about "Them"

Tourism huh. Assuming most of the reports we get of this phenomenon are true in some fashion, they do not strike me as being purposed for tourism, but rather intelligence gathering. Conducted in a moderately clandestine manner. I mean, I infer more of a careful curiosity than recreation...

What if polite species avoid fact-to-face contact as a rule?

Yeah...that's a problem. We don't know which reports are true...if we look hard enough we can probably find a report that supports any range of theories. We can't have it both ways. We can't theorize that the grays are interfaces so that we can cope with what we see, and then say they are...

What if polite species avoid fact-to-face contact as a rule?

Wow. That is a fascinating theory. But Aaron raises a good question here..if they are going to go to all that trouble, why not make the "interfaces" look as much like us as possible? Dear God, they could at least add a blonde wig. I recall a story of a famous astronomer sniping at an...

    Alien's eyeballs

You didn't explain it. You backed away from it. But not far enough. Not yet. You are hovering around a realization that you are not comfortable with, and it's making you angry. I have been in that boat many times, and I know how you feel.

    Assumptions about "Them"

In my opinion, everything (not just certain things) in this subject area is at some level based on huge assumptions. Or huge guesses. It seems our overwhelming need to discuss it forces us to just live with some assumptions. Otherwise, there is nothing to talk about. We need a little more...

A Show I would like to see

Why not? I don't think it would be hard to come up with a set of great discoveries and breakthroughs that originated with imaginative speculation. Obviously, the problem is keeping in focus the fact that it is just speculation.

    Phillip Corso and Bill Birnes

Are you sure you don't have an attachment? 'Cause that really sounds attached. :D

    Alien's eyeballs

Yes....my reading comprehension...that is the problem.

    Alien's eyeballs

I understand, it must be very difficult. But the plain truth is you made a thoughtless statement without care or concern for reality, then sarcastically indicted me for questioning your bias. You had several good intelligent choices and expertly avoided all of them. Lucky indeed.

    Alien's eyeballs

And thank you for acknowledging the uncertainty of the characterization, and the obvious fact that we don't know for sure what they are. Of course we are choosing to look beyond the most glaring assumption, that being that aliens exist at all.

    Alien's eyeballs

And you would never present it as the only possibility, nor would you base your deduction on dubious data or get defensive when your assumptions are tested. Because you are wise and thoughtful.

Ex-USAF cop claims he caused Rendlesham "hoax"

Here are some excerpts from the Halt Memo from Jan 13 1981. (The link goes to a web site that seems to largely discount the event, but I am not on that boat yet. Mainly I was just trying to find the text of the earliest(?) known official documentation of the event.) Kevin Conde might be telling...
