I remember you posting about your father’s death by drowning. Perhaps, I’m incorrect. If so, have you ever thought of contacting him?
Definitely not. He has appeared in my dreams on some rare occasions and that's been as shocking as seeing a UFO. Recently I listened to a podcast on Ouija and they talked about the difference between North America and the East when in comes to talking to the dead. From spiritualism to Ouija boards brought to you by Hasbro, we see talking to the dead as an everyday event. On the East it is seen as a sacred act and not a game or anything trivial. Our western ancient myths require us to sacrifice some sheep to feed blood to the dead so we can have a chat with our dead parents.

I used to be an avid Ouija user and now decades later and retired, I have very clear lines drawn between the living and the dead. I think we should both stick to our respective lanes and it's better for each to focus on their respective states of being.
Over the years members have died, became disenchanted, or perhaps disapprove of the political landscape. This place would be buzzing if they only knew of the historical value which has been laid bare with Gene’s ventures. Someday, you’ll type in The Paracast, and it will be gone, and with it all of the forum postings, episodes, and camaraderie. So, enjoy this time while it lasts!
I came back because of nostalgia and wanted to see if there was anyone that had some good UFO dialogue or new ideas about the great conundrum. I'm hoping we will continue to explore ideas openly to see if there's anything that can still be squeezed out of the phenomena that could be something tangible.
Oh — it's been quite the trip
Been a lot of bumps in the road....and a lot of different personalities that have floated through the airwaves and across the forums. I feel a little like we just got off the rollercoaster ride and now we're wandering around the fairgrounds a little dazed and confused wondering where everyone else is.
They're have been some legends and giants in the field that have appeared on this show. Where have all those voices gone? I kinda feel like the whole UFO thing is starting to fade. Those big voices and big personalities really helped to magnify and define the discussion from their fixed perspectives. They're all gone and I'm not really hearing any new voices that are defining territory in any significant way that is steering the discussion.
I'll make that my pet peeve more than a pet case.
Who are the new voices that you feel are worth paying attention to as Vallee starts to fade away? There's still Nick Redfern but he's more of a Brad Steiger explorer of many ideas than anything focussed. Pasulka has introduced a historical religious connection as well as opened up the invisible college in a more public manner and there's a lot of UFO Big Studies organizations that promote a lot of nebulous ideology without anything much that is tangible to hold onto.

That's my big pet peeve, that ufology has moved towards the cloudy unknown and no one is really steering the discussion towards anything specific. Sure there's a lot of talk about the immaterial and honoring the role of the imaginary, the irrational, and the non-material - but what does that all add up to?
There's not even cases that come forward with a clear sense of wonder with a wow factor that makes you go - jeez, that really sounds like a UFO.
