My situation is complicated and I do not know when I’ll recover. I had four days of “missing time” at the start of the year. My kidneys failed due to a negative reaction from an IV antibiotic. I was virtually unconscious. Till I recover I am on dialysis three times a week.

But the show is for sale. Please send me a direct message to inquire.
That sounds horrific, Gene. I'm very sorry to hear that you're having to work through such difficult health issues. All of us miss the show and miss your presence with Tim on the show. No one could imagine The Paracast without you at the helm. Maybe a consortium of well off Paracast fans can get together to create a buyer's group? I wish you a quick recovery and better health soon.

Sorry things are so bad Gene.

Since Gene isn't responding to my DM ( I don't know the reason ), I'll just post my thoughts here.

My personal feeling is that transforming the Paracast into a legacy product in the public domain under Creative Commons ( CCO ), with terms that would allow for attributions when used commercially would be the easiest way to move forward with the most chance of generating revenue.

Selling the show in the traditional sense would be much more of a challenge. Paranormal shows are now a dime a dozen — and free to watch on Tubi. The market is saturated and interest is waning. Besides that, most buyers are going to need to know exactly how a sale would work, including accounting history, liability for past and future costs and content, terms for exclusivity, distribution, and re-distribution of past shows, and whether or not you have a reliable agent who can handle a legal sales contract for you.

A Creative Commons ( CCO ) would bypass all that, allowing anyone motivated enough to begin working on their legacy project immediately. In theory, that could mean more than one project, which in theory could mean more than one possible stream of revenue. It could also mean future appearances for yourself on their shows ( if you were interested ). Also, there'd be nothing preventing you from making a rebound and doing your own thing either. I see no downside — so there's something to think about.

NOTE: If the idea of creating a legacy Paracast under a CCO piques anyone else's interest, join the discussion. As @Burnt State suggests, a few paracasters working together should be able to come-up with some kind of plan to a least preserve the show's legacy — maybe even get a little money flowing in Gene's direction.

In the meantime, a couple of questions for you ( Gene ):
  1. Can paracasters freely share their downloaded Paracast and DMR episode files amongst themselves?
  2. For those having trouble finding links to Paracast and DMR downloads on the forum — is it okay to post links to them?

That's all I can think of right now, unless anyone happens to know some angel investor/collector who's into paranormal memorabilia?
There's an idea — try seeing what it might go for in an auction!
Martin Willis at Podcast UFO might be able to help with that.

I sent Martin an email to see if he might have any insights or suggestions, and if he does, either he or I will follow-up. In the meantime Gene, I'm sure many paracasters only hope for the best of outcomes for you.
