Paranormal Adept

Keeping in mind that Steven Spielberg is of Jewish faith...

Why did he incorporate Christian symbology (crucifix), Christian nuns and possession in this movie? This was one of the first ideas that crossed my mind.
The crucifix emphasizes Jesus' sacrifice, including his death by crucifixion, which Christians believe brought about the redemption of mankind. Most crucifixes portray Jesus on a Latin cross, rather than a Tau cross or a Coptic cross.

Is this just because Christians would be the best target market for a movie in the US or maybe he thinks that the entire Jesus saga is potentially an alien/multi-dimensional intervention that took place 2025 years ago. Maybe a mix of personal belief and a talent for knowing how to trigger a blockbuster.

It's well known that he is fascinated by off the charts subjects (UFO/UAP/Biblical mysteries) and at age 80 it will be interesting to see where his curiosity path has led him. (Especially after input from David Fravor, David Grusch, Ryan Graves, Leslie Kean, Luis Elizondo... etc... etc...)

Does being near life's final chapters steer this movie closer to a religious (good/evil) fallen angel tone or will this be a cold/raw, stick it once and for all in your face, revelation of our place in the universe... (I still hear those dolphin clicks lol)

Disclosure.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So "nones" are up to 29%--no doubt greater than in the past. And the trend toward secularism will almost certainly continue. They may make money by appealing to holy joes now but just wait til 2050-75.

That's somewhat rhetorical — isn't it? In Judaism ( a prominent influence in Spielberg's life ), the crucifix is a symbol of the antisemitic myth of deicide ( Jews Killing God ). This theme is paralleled in ufology wherein it's been feared that alien disclosure would cause a crisis of faith, particularly in the Abrahamic religions. This theme is very prominent in some sci-fi as well — Particularly Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End.

So what we have here is a film that is deicidal in its theme ( at least in part ), and is written, produced and directed by a Jew ( brilliant ).

Then there is the issue of audience demographics — thanks for the table. Nice job on the post 🤓

Donald trump is a cunt. He cares about Donald not disclosure. The only thing Donald would say to the aliens if they landed on the Whitehouse lawn is. How much power and money can you give me? Just like Stephen Greer another ass hole who uses the phenomenon to make money.
I can't disagree entirely — even though from a purely political standpoint, I think Trump is marginally better than Biden — I just sense a bit of borderline TDS there. On the other hand GDS ( Greer Derangement Syndrome ) is perfectly understandable 😛

Anyone is better than Bidden another ass hole who thought getting to have the office was more important than what the office demanded.

Indeed — and getting back to the subject of the thread, Neither of them has instigated any meaningful disclosure either.
Very true Randall and it is my belief strange as it may seem that neither of them are head of the government that controls America or any other part of the world. By the way Americans I include all countries in that synopsis.

Spielberg has always known how to tap into the pulse of the nation. He knows how to utilize that intersection of belief and curiosity, fear and wonder as seen in many of his films.

The Christian population stats of America says a lot in terms of why this movie will be successful and it explains how I get hoodwinked by low budget streaming movies and their Christian agenda. It's starts as a simple movie about hunting and then suddenly someone starts quoting scripture, and the next thing you know there's a Bible reading circle in the middle of the woods with AR's perched on everyone's shoulder. And I'm like are the damn Gideons marching through the forest now and hiding little red bibles out in the bush beside the Bigfoot offering stands?
