MTI Marketing

Hi, folks! I'm a writer, editor and soon-to-be publisher. I've had a voracious appetite for the paranormal from an early age. As I grew up, most of the other phenomena fell by the wayside, but UFOs remained. I've always been fascinated with flying saucers. I bought a copy of the 1980 book The Roswell Incident not long after it was published.

I remember when I was very young, I had a UFO book that had a section in the middle with drawings (artists' conceptions) of different reported types of aliens. One in particular scared me so much that upon subsequent readings (I read it a lot, it was a good book), I remembered which page it was on, and made sure to skip it!

I also read The Interrupted Journey at an early age, and eventually Communion, Into the Fringe, Intruders, Missing Time and developed a substantial UFO library. I'm proud to have personalized copies of Left at East Gate and Stalking the Herd, and honored to call their authors, Peter Robbins and Chris O'Brien, my friends. I also knew Karla Turner, Marc Davenport and Mac Tonnies before their untimely deaths.

I graduated from the Center for the Study of Science Fiction at the University of Kansas in 1995, and during my time there, started KUUFON (the KU UFO Network), which I afterward turned into a for-profit company, Third Eye Productions, and promoted UFO lectures including Stanton Friedman, Bill Caulfield, Tom Nicholl, Marc Davenport and Leah Haley (the last two, twice) and sold out progressively larger and larger venues.

I've been a member of the Paracast forums since 2006 (originally under a different handle), and part of the Paracast team since (around) the following year. In fact, once, when David couldn't make a show, he suggested to me that I co-host it, which I didn't even consider, as a "substitute" co-host hadn't been done yet, and certainly wasn't as regular it is now.

When Gene put out the call for someone to sell advertising for the show, I answered right away. I have the distinction of having come up with the idea/business model for Paracast Plus (+) rather early in my job as business development director for Making The Impossible, Inc., but it was not adopted until later. I began selling advertising for the show (and The Tech Night Owl LIVE!) on a commission basis, and am still (AFAIK) the most successful salesperson in the show's history.

Interests: screenwriting, technology (computing and AI specifically) and UFOs, obviously. I like Star Trek in all incarnations (although at the time of this writing, I haven't yet seen Discovery) with the exception of the J.J. Abrams movies, not so much, and science fiction. I also enjoy B movies (like Plan 9 from Outer Space) and mid-Sixties Euro-horror (Bava, Argento, D'Ossorio, etc.).
