My apologies - and thanks. Obviously the conversation has moved on further than I thought (although I did check with the search function and couldn't find my earlier post)!
Thanks again - just wanted to make sure I hadn't offended anyone!
Hi Walter,
Your description of waking up thinking that you were in a different body and in the home of a different family reminded me a little of "Capgras delusion" (or Capgras syndrome) - see Wikimedia Error - although it's not an exact fit by any means. Following the link on that Wikipedia...
This is a well known experiment, perhaps more so in the UK and amongst SPR members given the involvement of David Fontana and the late Montague Keen (and Arthur Ellison?). I haven't read the book but have read quite a few reactions to it in the SPR journal over the years.
Probably not the word I would have chosen but I've never understood why this guy has such a loyal following, his critical reasoning skills are obviously non-existent. I tried listening to one of his wife's podcasts last year and that was equally full of nonsense.
I don't know if it's been mentioned already but the interview with Michio Kaku here is well worth listening to, especially the last half. I'm not a huge fan of SGU but there's some interesting stuff about parallel universes, etc.
Great show, great guest (one of the best - if not the best - in both cases). Surprised to see the somewhat lukewarm reception from some quarters but Jerry's standpoint on a lot of issues mirrors my own very closely so I suppose I'm inclined to give him extra brownie points :)
I like it. As long as there's an effort to bring forward up to date info on events covered (rather than just rehashing the original reports) I think it would be really useful.
