This Week's Episode: Gene and Randall welcome Fortean investigator Stan Gordon. Stan has been researching UFO sightings, Bigfoot encounters, and other mysterious events in Pennsylvania since 1959, and in 1969 he began taking calls on UFO sightings and other strange reports from the public. Since then, he has led teams of scientists, engineers, and research specialists to investigate mysterious occurrences across Pennsylvania. He is the primary investigator of the 1965 UFO crash near Kecksburg, Pennsylvania. In this episode, Stan will provide updates on the thousands of reports he's researched, including a number of sights and other paranormal encounters from 2020. He says his main focus is on the continuing cases concerning the stranger side of the Bigfoot phenomenon.

After The Paracast -- Available exclusively for Paracast+ subscribers on March 21: Veteran investigator of all things paranormal, Stan Gordon, continues the discussion that began on the main episode of The Paracast. His focus on Bigfoot sightings even includes encounters where one of these critters left a distinctive and foul odor that stuck around for several days. Stan began chasing Fortean events as a child, and he has kept a 24/7 telephone line open to receive reports of strange events in western Pennsylvania and elsewhere. He is the producer of the award winning UFO video documentary, “Kecksburg The Untold Story,” and is the author of three books, "Silent Invasion: The Pennsylvania UFO-Bigfoot Casebook," "Really Mysterious Pennsylvania," and "Astonishing Encounters: Pennsylvania’s Unknown Creatures."

Spring Updates

By Gene Steinberg

When The Paracast started in 2006, I can honestly say that I didn’t have a plan. I was busy writing and hosting a technology radio show, and returning to the world of the paranormal seemed the farthest from my mind. But once the show began, I knew it was the right way to go, and that, rather than the hope for great financial gains — which I’d never object to — is the main reason why we’re still here.

Now the other day, a listener, thing about ordering a lifetime subscription to The Paracast+, asked me what we consider to be a lifetime. He suggested it somehow must be seven years. Of course, since we already offer a five-year subscription at a current rate of $120 — compared to $200 for a lifetime — seven years wouldn’t be a terribly good deal.

But I assured the listener that lifetime means just that — as long as the show lasts, even if it’s another 15 years. Since we’re in our 16th year, and we’re not going anywhere, I think that’s good enough reason to consider one of these subscriptions. Please visit: Choose Your Membership Upgrade for quick and easy signup info.

And here’s another incentive:

We’re still offering a coupon code for a free download for the James Fox UFO documentary, “The Phenomenon,” with three hours of extra material, for five-year and lifetime subscriptions. But there aren’t many coupon codes left — they can only be used for single purchases — so if you’re interested, please act soon.

Right now, a subscription to The Paracast+ includes a version of the show with enhanced audio, free of those network ads some of you complain about. All 41 minutes of them are removed. We also offer the exclusive After The Paracast podcast, where anything can happen. Quite often, the regular guest on the show sticks around for another 30-50 minutes for uncensored conversation. We also present exclusive interviews and color commentary.

From time to time, we’ve also added videos, musical presentations and some early “Classic” episodes, beginning with our 2010 shows. More of those are ready to go and we’ll add them in the near future.

Since I’m selling stuff, I don’t want to forget our online store, The Paracast Shop. As the name implies, it’s all about branded merchandise with four different logos. There’s an assortment of T-shirts, hand and bath towels, tote bags — even a pet bed and some curtains.

It’s all high quality and gets rave reviews from our listeners. To find out more, just point your browser to: Shop on The Paracast and look around.

The store is regularly updated, so please check back from time to time. For example, that pet bed is a recent addition. In fact, we don’t always get updates from our supplier as to the new stuff they’re adding. but I’m tempted to buy one for our bichon, Teddy Bear, although he seems to prefer our own bed right now.

Now there are some things we need to improve. While our forum at The Paracast Community Forums is updated regularly with feature and performance improvements, we would like to update our main site at The Paracast — The Gold Standard of Paranormal Radio The Paracast — The Gold Standard of Paranormal Radio. The original site was designed way back in 2009. That’s an eternity in the online world, and it’s only received minor updates since then to make it look a little better on smartphones and small tablets.

The technology site, Gene Steinberg's Mac Radio — Tech Radio with a Twist! — Tech Radio with a Twist! uses a similar theme.

But I’m not a web developer, and I don’t play one on radio or TV. So we’re looking for some volunteers who are skilled at WordPress and PHP to help bring the site up to date and give it a shave and haircut to make it look better.

We don’t have a budget for a webmaster, but anyone who gets involved will receive a free lifetime subscription to The Paracast+ for their efforts and free advertising for their web development services. I’m hoping it won’t be a lot of work for someone who knows the ins and outs of WordPress themes and is willing to modify or build a new design for us.

If you can help, please write back.

And one more thing: Some listeners have suggested we build a custom mobile app for The Paracast in iOS and Android formats. After all, except for perhaps my co-host Randall, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have a smartphone. So I’m tempted, but software development is yet another skill I do not possess. I tried and quickly gave up Basic back in the 1970s after building a simple game or two.

If you don’t know what Basic is, imagine a computer app using just text rather than graphics and multimedia.

Here we will be able to work a co-sponsorship deal to share ad and/or sales revenue for the app. If you’re interested in partnering with us, please let us know. If you have existing apps in your resume, please show us. We’ll check them out and consider your ideas for The Official Paracast app.

Next week, it’s back to our regular commentaries on all things paranormal.
