jamesmcclenon.jpgJames McClenon Ph.D. is a sociology professor and licensed clinical social worker, is the author of these books: Deviant Science: The Case of Parapsychology, Wondrous Events: Foundations of Religious Belief, Wondrous Healing: Shamanism, Human Evolution, and the Origin of Religion, and The Entity Letters: A Sociologist on the Trail of a Supernatural Mystery.

The book, The Entity Letters, details a group of individuals, the SORRAT sitter group (Society for Research on Rapport and Telekinesis) who between 1961 and 2017 were actively engaged in a variety of spiritualistic practices involving a wide range of apparent paranormal, physical phenomena that include table tipping and levitation, poltergeist phenomena, earthquake effects and rapping. McClenon began his own investigation in 1981, faithfully documenting his experiences with the group from the viewpoint of a sociologist.

Jim's latest book is An Iranian and American Veteran Exchange Stories and Discuss Inner Peace: We Were Thirteen which brings together an Iranian Iran-Iraq War veteran and an American Vietnam War veteran, both mental health professionals, to exchange war stories and discuss self-help strategies for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Originally from Maryland, Jim has lived in Ecuador, China, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia and North Carolina, and travels extensively. He currently lives in southern Virginia.

Our guest cohost will be Tim Swartz.
