Kimi No Koto ga Suki Dakara is one of the most popular songs from AKB48. Pay attention to the guitars in this one, so you can compare to the video that follows.

I don't actually know enough about guitars to judge if this is good playing or not, but whatever the case, I like this guy's version.

This song belongs in a movie soundtrack.
    You know which setting.
    You know which era.
And you damn well know which director.
It's like the screenplay is inside the song, just waiting for someone to put it on the page.

This is one of the coolest guitar songs ever made, but also one of the most frustrating. I think the band that created it is called Silent Partner, but trying to nail down any more specifics has been a dead end. There's very little information available, I'm sorry to say.

That's funny because I am always thinking to myself "...this particular song would be great in a film." and then I picture in my head what the part in the film would look like. I can't help it. It's just a compulsion.

After watching the documentary above it seems pretty clear that the Gilmour vs. Waters debate is pretty much settled. There's no question they're both icons, but the part about Waters getting dictatorial and firing band members and Gilmour stepping in and reinstating them and carrying on without Waters, plus Waters eventually admitting he could have made better choices back then, ultimately gives Gilmour more of whatever it is that put him at the forefront.

I love this video: not for it's quality, which is bad. Not for their singing, which is poor. And not because this was a famous idol group because it wasn't - like most idol groups, they never had much money or hit the big time at all, but as you can seen they had a small group of fans that loved them and everyone had fun. This is what idol is all about.

I wish I could have seen the original lineup (original to me being Waters, Wright, Mason, Gilmour). I guess the closest I came was seeing those 4 on stage at Live 8 on TV from sunny Orondo, Washington on 4th of July weekend and seeing Roger Waters perform The Wall live in Philadelphia.
