According to a document a friend from England sent me, the Island of Malden in the central Pacific was refered to as "Area 93" from the early sixties to the mid eighties. Apparently, Boeing conducted a number of tests there. Today, obviously, there are very few traces left. Just a few corroded containers and an abandoned airstrip.
