We welcome Paul Dean to The Paracast in an episode to be recorded Wednesday at 4 PM to 6 PM Pacific.
Paul Dean is an Australian researcher who specializes in the acquisition, assessment and archiving of official UFO records which have been generated for 80 years by myriad government agencies. Paul has been instrumental in obtaining never-before-seen UFO case files, military doctrine, and other important documents that will shape our understanding of the UFO issue for years to come. He also works with files that were first obtained by others, but thought long lost, and engage with the likes of archivists Barry Greenwood, Jan Aldrich and Francis Ridge. Working from more of a historical perspective than a field investigator or UFO cult personality, Paul attempts to assess which areas of governmental UFO history are lacking significant documentation, and he then focuses on those areas with Freedom of Information Act requests, Mandatory Declassification Reveiw submissions, and other correspondence regimes.
In fact, Paul's broad assessment of US archival holdings, and his knowledge of military and aviation history, is now indicating that the US government, despite claims to the contrary, has only released a small fraction of the remaining UFO files they have generated. History, in fact, will need to be rewitten time and time again as classified records come to light. While Paul's research is frequently focused on the American UFO scene, he originally began his active UFO research with colleague Keith Bastetfield, also an Australian, and together they have brought new UFO cases to light, as well carefully assessed older UFO events in what have essentially become Aussie "Cold Case Reveiws". While many of Paul's discoveries are published on his blogsite, there are numerous avenues of research that he and his small team have yet to announce, and some of these items promise to be very revealing.
