Ask Nancy du Tertre: How to Talk to an Alien

So when you watch TV and the movies, you know aliens usually speak perfect English. DC Comics doesn't tell us how Supergirl learned English when she came to Earth at age 13.

The author of "How to Talk to an Alien" is Nancy du Tertre, former securities litigation attorney and "Skeptical Psychic," has written a book in which she asks" Do aliens exist? In 2013, one poll showed that nearly half of all Americans (48 percent) believe UFOs may be a sign of extraterrestrial visitation; another found that 10 percent of Americans claim to have actually witnessed an actual UFO; and yet another showed that 2.9 million Americans believe they had actually been abducted by aliens." Hmm, maybe David Jacobs is right about the number of abductions.

In any case, this book poses the question about how we'd communicate with ET should they make that massed landing. Would they be trained in communicating with us in English? Would they use telepathy? Or would they depend on some sort of universal translator, a la Star Trek? Or would it be left up to we Earthlings to sort things out?

The concept of dealing with possible alien visitations is fascinating, and I'm sure you'll have lots of questions for Nancy. To give the concept more credibility, the book has a forward by Stanton T. Friedman.

We'll be recording this episode on Thursday, December 17th, mid-day.

I am looking forward to this one..I can't think of a pertinent question because I'm waking up but..
My mind immediately went to a Marvel Comics character from the 1980s in an X-Men related title: New Mutants.
A hostile race of extraterrestrials came to earth and a young mutant, Doug Ramsey (Aka Cipher) whose mutant power was an instant mastery of any language was able to communicate and befriend the alien Warlord's son Warlock who in turn decided it was cooler to roll with humans than to reduce them to techno-organic nutrition. Talk about runon sentences!!
Now for the good questions..:)

"A fantastic read! Nancy du Tertre's new book How to Talk to an Alien takes ufology to a whole new level. She makes the strong case that if aliens can shut down our nuclear missile defense systems and abduct human beings, we'd better learn how to communicate with them--and fast!"

On a different note:

---- Nancy, have you yourself ever asked, or persisted to ask, your alien raconteurs to just come boldly out of the closet so to speak, and present themselves openly to the light of day for anyone to behold or contact? If so, what is their response?

In your book's Conclusion you relate the biblical tower of Babel episode and the subsequent scattering of humanity with all kinds of languages, and following that you speak of the Greek world and how Zeus ruled until mischievous Hermes "played the ultimate trick on the human race . . . He brought diversity in speech to humans."

---- Would you care to delineate how you relate to these and other ancient texts and traditions, and how they relate to modern paranormal phenomena?

Again in your conclusion you write, "we will never fully understand each other or the vastness of our potential until our Consciousness has attained a level of purity to touch and merge with God. Only then will we understand that we are all interconnected–aliens, humans, angels, and demons. That, as the aliens and angels have told us, we are One."

---- Would you care to expand on your religious background, training and your current views and practices?

---- Would you care to comment on the biblical admonition to the children of Israel: "Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God."

Other commandments require execution of those in Israel who continue such practices, after being clearly warned. So, biblically speaking, humans are defiled, not purified by attempting spiritual contact via mediums, which evidently is another name for the modern "experiencer."

---- Do you see a difference between mediums and experiencers?

If they have the technology to get here, they'll have the technology to receive all our radio transmissions, and soon match up the TV image and matching sound signals. TV in particular has been broadcast since 1936 (Alexandra Palace transmitter, London) and these VHF signals easily escaped the Earth's ionosphere out into space - 70-odd light years out into space in fact!

They've had plenty of time to learn a rather clipped British English - if no other language!

I'm assuming they must all watch TV to understand so many (maybe not all) aspects of human society and the Earth in general.

If so, what type of programmes would they find most helpful, and which would they find most baffling I wonder...?

I presume your interaction with aliens, angels and demons is mostly via telepathy.

---- Have you developed protocols to determine who's who when you are in telepathic contact with such beings?

---- Do aliens with whom you interact actually talk about angels and demons?

---- In your decades of interaction how many different personalities have you been in contact with?

---- Do aliens talk about their origins, i.e. where they come from, and do they provide any useful data for verification?

---- During your years of conversations have you ever been aware of deceptive and misleading comments by these beings?

---- Nancy, would you care to tell us what your alien interlocutors were saying to you leading up to the 12/21/12 "Event"?

---- How much confidence should humans put in invisible telepathic conversation when the aliens are supposedly already among us on earth? (Presumably they could just "uncloak" and interact with humans in ways that eliminate suspicion.)

Chris has mentioned that "Trickster" events may result from one's own consciousness (I hope I've got this right). Would you care to discuss whether "Trickster" events only arise from one's own consciousness, or do the entities you have contact with interact with humans in tricksterish ways?

Thanks.

What is your opinion of the hubrids espoused by David Jacobs?

Seems Jacobs' hubrids never watched any TV before thay arrived since they ask their human trainers the most ridiculous questions. (e.g. "What is money for?"; "What are dogs for?" and the like!)

You have suggested that aliens and angels can communicate. What do you believe aliens actually are? Are they physical beings bound by the constraints of conventional science as humans are? And what other types of lifeform, apart from aliens, angels and humans, do you believe exist?

The contactee movement of the 1950s seems, with the exception of the occasional book, to be largely ignored today. Should those interested in the UFO phenomenon be looking at this group again and, if so, why?

You refer to yourself as a linguist. Arguably the most famous linguist alive is Noam Chomsky whose theory of Universal Grammar posits that every human language shares grammatical similarities. Could the similarities in channelled and "alien" languages you've identified merely reflect the innate linguistic structures humans bring to languages?

Greg Bishop and others talk about the concept of co-creation. In channelled messages how much of the content and tone is produced by the phenomenon and how much, if any, is produced by the person channelling?

The history of channelled messages is littered with inaccurate and failed predictions. Channelled "aliens" have also claimed they come from planets, such as Venus, that we now know are highly unlikely to support life. If these messages are wrong why should we trust any of the other information provided?

Recently we've seen a number of projects launched that aim to use camera units or even a satellite to look for UFOs. In part this seems to be an attempt to move away from witness reports and towards measurable information. How do you feel about this scientific approach to the phenomenon and how do you feel your current work fits within a new push by ufology for scientific credibility?

Potential to be a really interesting episode!

Let's hope it doesnt end with something like "magnetic fields exploding outwards" or something.

ENGAGE!!!
