I wish it were something OTHER than a rocket, but if you look at this photo, the trail rising up from the horizon, and then look on Youtube for "mysterious spiral UFO's over Russia....well, I think what we got on our hands here is a VERY COOL looking failed rocket launch.

One moment that I can't get out of my head was David talking about how watching Close Encounters with an audience in South America, what a different experience it was. Total silence from the audience. Something about that just rings so true.

Look again. The "vegetation in front of the figure" is actually the feathers of the wingtips. I have no doubt that there is in fact a large North American ape currently unknown to science, but this ain't it. Not by a long shot. Look at it again while thinking "crow...crow...crow..." you'll see it.

It's a crow flying towards the camera. It's another one of those tricky bits that as soon as you see it with the word "crow" in your mind, you can't NOT see it.
