    Obama on Gay Marriage

Well Rick, I can't relate to that. I'm sorry you were in pain. My faith has brought me more joy than pain and more hope than fear. I have seen this hope and joy in many people that I have known and grown up with. The southern baptist faith you describe doesn't really sound like anything I know...

    Obama on Gay Marriage

ROFLMAO! You are forgiven. Ain't nobody does it like the Southern Baptist. Trust me, I know. However, I still remember my baptism and it was awesome. I've never forgotten that.

    Voices of the Past

I was reading one of the ebooks that Mr. Beckley put out. He of the "conspiracy journal." :p I noticed he talked about his old friend Gene Steinberg and it made me think. Gene and others have been at this a long time. Kudos for that cause it makes my head hurt sometime and I'm a general browser...

    Voices of the Past

This is seriously my favorite stuff in the paranormal. Angelo I liked this quote. ;) Angel will understand. :p

    Obama on Gay Marriage

Well that's simplistic and if that's why "you" worshiped anything then I understand why you are an atheist. But, wait I said I was through on the religion thread. Never mind. Carry on. ;)

    Hmmm, there's the carrot.

    Obama on Gay Marriage

This will be my final post on religion, "yeah right" :p Well, maybe. ;) To the Mikes and the Bill Marhs and others of the world. Go to an Islamic nation. Hell, I'll even change that. Go to an Islamic website. Post your name and where you live. Then pull up vulgar pictures of Mohammed and others...

    Obama on Gay Marriage

Angel, just because I'm the only one that "voiced" it doesn't mean I'm the only one that agrees or disagrees. Intimidation by cursing and cyber yelling isn't something that some folks desire to get into. Again, please look at the entirety of what I wrote. I think I made my points clear. Other...

    Obama on Gay Marriage

I'm gonna say this. I don't read any links by Mike when it comes to religion. The reason is once you start a sentence with "bullshit" and "shove it" and "fairy tale" or whatever, it makes no sense to even think there would be any objectivity. I also, don't read all the links posted by Kim since...

Is Striebers new book worth a read?

While I can't say I believe Strieber's stuff literally happened, I have a hard time thinking he is a deliberate charlatan. I guess he is still in my grey basket also.

    Obama on Gay Marriage

Pixel I gotta agree about the two party system. I think it's badly broken. As for Catholics I was very disappointed during the Kerry run for the presidency. Some bishops wanted to deny him communion because of his pro choice stance. I remember thinking "well, then they will deny Bush because of...

    Substrate-independent minds

I'm not as voracious a reader as I was when I was younger. But, ebooks have helped alot in my case. I can adjust the font and actually read without bright light. I actually turn the lights off and use my Kindle Fire these days.

    Obama on Gay Marriage

The world is changing. If the church doesn't adapt it will die. Sad, but true. I know some gay folks who are very spiritual people. They will either be accepted or they will find other groups and spiritual outlets because they are not going away. Can you imagine some alternate reality where...

    Substrate-independent minds

OMG! Geeks trash talking about the books they have read. There is a God! ;) I was always kind of made fun of growing up because I was a book worm. Now Mike and Kim are laying the smack down with what and who they have read! Yes, I am now Da man cause if it rained down all the books I've read in...

    Substrate-independent minds

What dreams may come ;) Although I certainly feel more hope in my faith than I do in a cyborg. I do think the point about being saved from death is indeed a universal human desire. Death, be it a transition or the end of everything is not unnatural. We will be there a lot longer than we are...

It was indeed old Karl Rove of dubya's administration. But, the truth will come out someday. I hope.

    Obama on Gay Marriage

Thanks. I think some southerners get a little defensive because we have been tarnished (some deserved and some not) by a broad brush. I have lived all over the nation and Tuscaloosa, Alabama is the most intergrated city I've ever lived in. It's not perfect and we fight and fuss and push up...

    Obama on Gay Marriage

I think he's out on appeal right now. He should never have been in prison in my opinion but he made some enemies at the Bush white house for one thing.

    Obama on Gay Marriage

I'm very happy to say that the University of Alabama has quite a diverse board of trustees now. As I said things are changing. It isn't an attack on conservatives by me. I am middle of the road and a little bit left leaning on social issues. But, I'm not a far left liberal.
