    The great vocalists thread

Mel Torme. Don't let the "Velvet Fog" name fool you. He had outstanding jazz sensibilities. Coupla of the other Rat Packers: Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. Willie Nelson (at times, when he doesn't rush to the end of phrases) Patsy Cline Barbra Streisand Michael Feinstein Mandy Patinkin...

    Have I become a jerk?

Yeah. What he said. Add my voice to the chorus: welcome back, dB!

    Dolan: Fact or Fancy?

I think _UFOs and the National Security State_ is a valuable reference work in spite of its flaws. Just like in college -- you buy a textbook and use it in class, and the professor will sometimes bring up places where he/she disagrees and it becomes a subject for class discussion. I find him...

    Have I become a jerk?

That's a little harsh. RonCollins said his friend wanted "an overview" and wanted "to spend a little time looking into" the subject. I agree that Dolan has his faults but as a pure historical overview I can't think of a better starting place. I also recommended researchers from our "credible"...

    Have I become a jerk?

Ron, Your reply was absolutely perfect. I would have suggested Dolan's book and some of the names on the "credible" side of the "credible or clown" thread and tell them to go to it. Either they'll get sick of it or they'll figure out how to find useful information on their own.

    May "17th listener roundtable"

Finished the show. Very enjoyable. I have to give big thanks to everyone who shared their very personal experiences. It's nice to hear that not everyone sounds like we do in Texas! And, in spite of some guests' misgivings, everyone sounded incredibly poised, articulate, and credible. It...

    May "17th listener roundtable"

SarkozyAide -- the "Show Description" tag will give you a brief listing of the person and their background -- author, researcher, experiencer, whatever. If you are listening on an iPod you can repeatedly press the center button to display that text. Additionally, the names of the current and...

    May "17th listener roundtable"

I just heard the part where skunkape and BrandonD just figured out their Texas connection. I'm from that area too, and it was great hearing it mentioned on the Paracast. It's no Marley Woods, but it is kinda spooky at night, and as I mentioned there was at least one very well documented Blue...

    May "17th listener roundtable"

I meant the sighting on Texas 35 near Danbury. I'm from that area and I've always thought that part of 35 was spooky. I live in Houston now but grew up in Lake Jackson. There is an old ghost legend in the area, about an early settler named Brit Bailey who wanders the area. More to the...

    May "17th listener roundtable"

I thought that was skunkape. Was it Brandon? David was calling him "John."

    Roundtable (10 May)

Fahrusha, I remember that bugged me slightly, too. It seemed a little hard for me to believe, knowing something as I do about military aviation history, that we would have something that much more advanced than the advanced stuff we know about. David rejects of the idea that microprocessor...

    Credible vs. Clown list needed

I'm not sure about most of these, but I thought Budd Hopkins of Paracast endorsement fame came across as pretty darned credible. I was a little surprised at Paul's negative assessment of him. Derrel Sims -- what I've heard of him doesn't sound credible to me. Frank Feschino -- it's an...

    Roundtable (10 May)

I meant to say earlier, though, that it's like Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Just because you've heard it before, and you're not likely to get anything new from it, it's still worth hearing. As to the new, well, the biggest "new" things I have heard are the South America flap and the recent Ted...

    Roundtable (10 May)

Well, I expected to enjoy the episode, and I did. Those three guys are always "entertaining," when they're together, to use a dirty word. I've been an admirer of PK's tough but fair style pretty much as long as he's been playing in this sandbox, and I was introduced to Nick Redfern and Greg...

    David Biedny - Expert....?

Yeah, if you've been kicking around the Mac world for a while, especially since the early days of image editing, you'd definitely recognize dB's name from plenty of articles and reviews, as well as some fairly major Photoshop reference works. "We want to hear from you. Please visit our...

    April 19 - Kimball & Stevens

Apropos of the Ouija board discussion: My daughter stumbled across this and it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Favorite line: "This is gonna be loud!"

    Oct 19 - Siani: Break-out paranormal star of 2008

Wow, dreampsi, that sounds a lot like David's description of his trip. That's the only time I've ever heard of something similar. Concerning the two blue trucks, could those have just been two similar trucks traveling together? That kind of thing happens a lot with commercial and...

Time for Redfern, Bishop and Tonnies!

Looking forward to this episode a lot. Especially back-to-back Kimballs (or nearly so) My only gripe is that you are using up four great guests in just one episode! You coulda got four episodes outa these guys (and gal, sorry, Holly)

Time to get Rich Dolan back on!

I thought the KC-135 sighting was supposed to be a pretty credible one, and one which is usually used as proof of a black project like Aurora instead of a UFO. That's what I've always understood it to be, and that's what I thought Rich was referring to.

    Feb 22nd show

Enjoyed it, as I always do with Rich. I was a little surprised to hear how quiet David was, though David has explained his frustration with Rich, both on the show and in this forum. I can sorta understand Rich's unwillingness to criticize the people he's going to run into at every conference...
