    Thoughts on Snow Leopard

PPC not supported. Unacceptable. Yes, I've read Apple's and Macworld's explanation as to why, and I am still not convinced. My new machine is a 2005 G5 iMac, and my work machine is a 2001 PMac G4 Dual. I know people doing productive work on G3's. If the machines will last that long, why...

    Rich Dolan and his woo-woo

OK, I've listened to the Dolan interview on the other Para-podcast. Because I genuinely enjoy hearing Rich speak, I have also listened to his ten minutes with Linda Moulton Howe on her Earthfiles podcast. I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of the second book. Rich's public statements associated...

    Rich Dolan and his woo-woo

Looks like the book is out, at least through Rich's site. Amazon is just fronting for Keyhole Publishing. Table of Contents alone looks very interesting. Anyone actually have it yet?

Now that the marmer thread is closed time to bitch about the the episode...

Just to bother me, no doubt! :) Maybe I should just change my username to Greer.

    Some People Still Love Us!

Nice. Too bad he said the podcast is "great entertainment!" :)

Underdog! It's Mamer! Mamer! One "r!" Not MARMER!

August 30th Episode with Karl Mamer

Just to be clear. I am marmer, with a username derived from my real name, which I have proudly used everywhere since 1983. Karl Mamer (only one "r") is someone else altogether.

Another show suggestion: Joseph P. Farrell and/or Nick Cook on the Nazi bell

I've heard Farrell several times on other shows and I agree he's worth hearing. As Schuyler says, he has a background in theology. He has done a lot of research with ancient texts which led to his Giza Death Star series. In spite of the ridiculous name, it seems like a fairly reasonable...

No Rest for the Wicked. . . July 5

Well, count me as one of the voices suggesting you take some time off, and in fact that you be quite generous with yourselves about it. Maybe a month at least. I also don't think a guest host is a good idea. I agree that there are certain individuals who are credible, well-spoken, and worth...

    June 7, 2009 - Greg Bishop

Nice job, all. The varsity was definitely on the field for this one. And I was glad to see that David and Greg, while remaining cordial and professional, weren't afraid to argue in a spirited, forceful way. The audio quality of The Paracast is tops, folks. There are darned few podcasts...

UFO seen by pilot in Liberty TX

Yeah, there was a lot of talk about it in the _Houston Chronicle_. Most people are focusing on the possibility of a shoulder-fired anti-aircraft weapon fired from heavy forest cover. Or possibly a very high-end model rocket (type O) though that seems less likely, as it requires special permits...

    May 31, 2009

Tru dat, but I imagine every vanquished people has a similar prophecy of a future return to past glories. I think once it became clear that there might be a way to make it work that A LOT of people quite openly worked to return the Jews to their "homeland." That's probably the biggest single...

I heard a lot of things that brought to mind Nick Pope's "Interesting if true." I certainly think the whole gods-or-angels-as-ET's/extra-dimensionals-whatever is worth examining. Treating the Old Testament as just another old historical text is something that I'm kinda surprised isn't done more...

    UFO Books

I agree that this is a very valuable book. I wouldn't start with it though, just as you wouldn't necessarily start with volume A of an encyclopedia. That's why I recommended Dolan's book, because of its chronological overview.

    The great vocalists thread

I think I need to add Raul Malo and Solomon Burke, too. Are my tastes really that much more old-fashioned than everyone else's?

What Useless or Strange Trivia do you know?

Off the top of my head, here are three strange little factoids. I have lots more. :) Ted Lyons went to Baylor University on a trombone scholarship. During a brawl at a football game with Texas A&M, his trombone was smashed, so he switched to baseball. He pitched twenty seasons with the...

    UFO Books

Richard Dolan's book is a good place to start if you want to learn some of the historical background of the UFO mystery. Dolan is often criticized for being a little too quick to believe some of the more way-out conspiracy or extraterrestrial explanations, so read it with a somewhat critical...

    Is the PARACAST getting better?

My feelings exactly, Mike. The last several shows have been very solid. David's "finishing kick" in the last ten minutes of the last Hastings/Ecker show is one of the best things I've ever heard on The Paracast.
