This Week's Episode: Gene and Chris present journalist Avrel Seale, author of MONSTER HIKE
: A 100-Mile Inquiry Into the Sasquatch Mystery. Says the publisher, “Sometimes, when you want to find out the truth, you have to go out there and find out for yourself. That’s just what Texas author Avrel Seale has done. Nevermind the naysayers—science, government, and mainstream society—there is no better knowledge than personal knowledge.…Seale probes this controversial subject not just with boots on the ground in the Sam Houston National Forest, but on the page with curiosity and literary flair.” Avrel Seale is a writer of eclectic non-fiction and an outdoorsman living in Austin, Texas.

After The Paracast -- Available exclusively to Paracast+ subscribers on December 10: Gene and Chris talk over the problems encountered by the latter in getting Skype 8 for the Mac to work with a group conversation. It kept him from participating during the initial segments of the December 10th episode of The Paracast. The discussion switches to the endless debate over whether or not UFOs are extraterrestrial, as Chris cites Greg Bishop's “co-creation” theory, in which the experiencer is a participant, as an example of an innovative idea to find out what’s really going on. Chris provides a Sasquatch update: What have we learned about those strange creatures in the past five years? There’s also a brief discussion about whether such creatures are genetically compatible with humans, and whether that explains why some humans have been kidnapped by “them.”

About that Great ET Debate
By Gene Steinberg

When it comes to UFOs, the possibility that they are extraterrestrial is regarded as close to an accepted fact by many people. No doubt the vast majority of those who believe UFOs represent a genuine mystery feel that way.

On the surface, the very idea seems supremely logical. The so-called flying saucers appear to be solid and metallic. They engage in pinpoint maneuvers that are evidently far beyond the capabilities of our most advanced aircraft. There have been notable simultaneous radar and visual sightings through the years.

Sometimes the UFOs leave trace evidence, and witnesses who see them closeup sometimes see mostly humanoid creatures nearby.

Add it all together and you have clear indications of visitors from other planets, from far-away star systems.

The evidence appears to be growing. Astronomers have discovered evidence of thousands of potential Earth-like planets orbiting other stars. They are evidently rocky planets that are as large or larger than our planet. With the vastness of space, there may be billions upon billions of potentially inhabitable worlds out there.

So if intelligent life has developed on even a small portion of those planets, no doubt some have advanced to the point where they have mastered star travel. Whether warp drive, an antigravity system, or something our sci-fi writers and scientists haven’t thought about yet, it makes perfect sense that we are being visited.

There you go, then. You have a simple, perfectly logical solution to the UFO mystery, so let’s get on with our lives.

But what about the implications?

Does ET have any designs towards Earth that would result in them taking control? Is it possible we are also alien beings, hybrid creatures that were based on genetically modified protohumans? Do our early religious texts actually tell the story of the advanced god-like beings from outer space who brought humanity to a primitive world?

But this is not going to be a religious discussion, unless you want to deal with the implications of at least some of our religious teachings being based on encounters with ancient astronauts.

Now if there are ETs in our midst, surely the governments of Earth know at least some of the truth. How do they deal with that knowledge? Is it kept secret as a means to protect us or to maintain control? How would big oil deal with the truth about a civilization that may use renewable energy to power its spaceships? Would those in control strive to keep us from learning a truth that would put energy companies out of business? Or are they devoting vast resources in an effort to profit from such technology?

But all this is theoretical. While there have been reports of possible captured UFOs over the decades, it’s not as if those stories have been proven. At one time, the Roswell crash was regarded as the solution to the UFO enigma. The authorities captured a crashed spaceship along with the bodies of its crew.

It’s the stuff of legend, and such sci-fi movies and TV shows as “X-Files” were heavily influenced by Roswell.

But due to the hard work, and intellectual honesty, of such long-time researchers as Kevin D. Randall, the Roswell story has fallen apart. Something evidently happened. But there isn’t much evidence pointing to a possible crashed spaceship, and claims of the recovery of alien bodies have fallen apart.

After all these years, there is no smoking gun. The ETH remains a logical enough possibility. UFOs appear to behave as if they are advanced aircraft, but it’s not something we can prove. Most of the evidence remains anecdotal.

While extraterrestrial UFOs seem plausible when the phenomenon is isolated, once you consider other weird events that are often experienced by eyewitnesses, you begin to wonder. Are ghost sightings, poltergeists, possible strange creatures, such as Bigfoot, even related? Coincidental? What?

The poor stepchild of the UFO phenomenon is the abduction scenario. People claim to have been captured by what appear to be alien beings and taken aboard a spaceship, sometimes to undergo painful experiments. More extreme abduction reports imply that ET is busy creating a hybrid race, part human and part alien. But for what purpose? An eventual takeover without firing a single shot?

Now I’m not going to consider issues of genetic compatibility. It may be that ET is closely related to us, so it doesn’t take much to combine our genes with theirs. Besides, if they are hundreds or thousands of years ahead of us, it may be simple work to adapt our genetic material to make it happen.

But couldn’t an advanced race perform such experiments painlessly? Indeed, would it even be necessary to abduct people? Genetic samples are everywhere, easily located. It all seems awfully primitive.

And what about the apparent correlations between UFO abductions and near-death experiences? Are those abductions, frightening as they are for some experiencers, even physical? Is it all in someone’s mind, or are abductees interacting with some foreign or alien source on a subconscious level, perhaps filling in the details?

What is really going on, and does it have anything at all to do with interactions with ET, or is some other force involved?

Now on last week’s episode of The Paracast, we featured a spirited debate on the merits of the ETH as opposed to other theories about UFOs. It was so enjoyable that our guests agreed to continue the discussion on After The Paracast, the exclusive podcast available strictly to subscribers of The Paracast+.

Since that debate, the discussion has continued unabated on our forums. Pro or con, or somewhere in between, it will never be resolved until or unless we arrive at a final solution to the presence of UFOs.

True, if ET is involved, it could all end overnight, perhaps with a massed landing. Or maybe they will take control of our TV sets, radios and computers, and beam a broadcast to us in which they let us in on who they are, where they are from, and their motives for being here.

Well, if we can believe them, of course. But therein lies another tale.

Indeed Gene,
Artificial Intelligence is the method of which all the space agencies will traverse the stars in the next decades and the ETH is most likely one methods of interactions with the human race. The A.I. might be one method in communication with the phenomena in speculative speaking. As humankind technology development proceed in A.I will a post biological ETH be the result?
