Ask Anomalist Allen Greenfield

Allen Greenfield has a wide range of interests, all of them linked, according to him. He is a published author on Masonic rites, UFOs, esoteric spirituality and psychic phenomena. Having done considerable field research and lab work in all of these areas he subscribes to the "Many Worlds" interpretation of Quantum Theory, and thinks that the explanation for phenomena as diverse as ghosts, Near Death Experiences, spontaneous cases of the reincarnation type, men in black, shadow people, cryptids etc. is in the overlap among so called "branes" (that's b-r-a-n-e-s) or alternate worlds impinging upon our consciousness, a concept he has advocated since the late 1960s. Greenfield is a former high level initiate of one of the great occult orders of antiquity, but broke with them a decade ago over their authoritarian and dogmatic approach to magick and mysticism. He now facilitates the decentralized, non-authoritarian worldwide free illuminist movement which has thousands of members and a variety of approaches to illumination. Greenfield has three sons, including a well-known screen writer, a recent Navy veteran and a master chef.

Greenfield can be found on the internet in a plethora of places simply by googling his name, Allen Greenfield. A world traveler from the age of 16, he just returned from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

He's also been one of my best friends for over five decades.

This episode will be recorded Thursday, April 27 from 11 AM until 1 PM Pacific time.

Allen, in your view, does reality originate from a Deity who is the ultimate Source of all?
"Yud-Kay-Vav-Kay" for example?

Or, at its most fundamental, is reality simply inert mindless material, driven by randomness, out of which emerged the universe that includes us observers of it, and our flawed conjectures about Deity?

Or do you have some other view?

What is your personal goal in practicing magick and delving into mysticism?

Well, here are a few more questions:
  • Have you ever had an instantaneous, spectacular, impossible to mistake, answer to your conjuring?
If so, would you care to give a description.
Recently a practitioner of magick, John Steadman, was a Paracast guest, and I had some questions that were not answered, so I'll ask you:
  • Mr. Steadman emphasized that actual beings, evidently non-human entities, are behind in magick. He says all real magick is human engagement of these non-human beings via rituals. Your opinion?

  • Steadman said the film Dr. Strange gave a fair representation of magick, but that the film lacked the actual engagement of the beings behind magick. Your opinion?

  • Steadman uses Lovecraft's magick system even though Lovecraft himself did not believe in it as a real magick system. Is this valid?

  • Do you practice some "venerable" defined system of magick? Kabbalah?

  • If Lovecraft's magick system is valid, then do you think non-human beings behind magick influenced Lovecraft to write things about magick that they wanted written? Or, do these beings only demand some kind of magick system to regulate human contact with them --- simply a desire for humans to perform some system of ritual?
  • Do you think there is any similarity between magick, shamanism and Hinduism, in that non-human entities - powers or gods - are invoked and petitioned for divine beneficence. Any connection?

Dear Gene and Chris, please ask Mr Greenfield what he thinks about Atlantis, Lemuria and Mu? were/are they real places that could potentially one day be discovered by archeologists?

Thank you and best wishes.

We covered the multiverse, magick, ancient civilizations and other stuff.

And it continues, uncensored, with Allen on this weekend's issue of After The Paracast.
