The majority of that software was BIOS overlay software. It basically enhances your system BIOS. all it did was create a new layer to the logic. Which basically made it Y2K compliant. Most people didn't have a clue on how to update a BIOS. So it did its job..

As far as MACS go I remember OS8 and OS9 being the worst OS I'd ever seen. Absolute antiquated Garbage. Then Jobs dusted off the Next OS and suddenly they are relevant again. The minute that OS came out I fell in love with MACS. However I use PC's because I can build them cheap and I don't have thousands of dollars to buy a G series. If the OS/X OS came out as a retail OS I would be all over it.

Macs start at $799, for the Mac mini. There is no G series Mac. There is a Mac Pro, a workstation beginning at $2,799 in a standard configuration. However, when you price it against the equivalent Dell product, a Precision Workstation, the Mac Pro is generally hundreds of dollars less -- but the configurations you compare must be the same.

Apple will never release Mac OS X for non-Apple products. The last time they tried to do that sort of thing, when they had an official clone program in the mid-1990s, it nearly killed the company.

One of the great Mac advantages is the fact that it is an integrated solution. Microsoft has to make an operating system that will work with thousands of third-party computers, and that causes trouble.

Let's take the rest of this discussion to the tech forum, OK?

I'm sure they're going to have another BS, money making venture up their sleeve. I guess we'll all know in due time.
If they're smart they'll say "It happened. Didn't you feel it? The great change is upon us!"

And then the great change can be upon us indefinitely.

That or they'll say "We did it! Through meditation, positive reinforcement, rubbing crystals with sacred oils and veganism we saved the planet! Go New Age whackos!!"

These types always remind me of the lyrics to Iron Maiden's Die With Your Boots On:

"Another prophet of disaster
Who says the ship is lost
Another prophet of disaster
Leaving you to count the cost
Taunting us with visions
Afflicting us with fear
Predicting war for millions
In the hope that one appears."

...and on it goes, ad nauseum.

i think the maya 2012 is a lot of old rubbish, however take this experiment in Switzerland and Cern, and forward four years from the date of this experiment. If a black holes occured, and it seems possible from what i have read. could this be what the whole mayan debate is about! .I am just throwing this out there for a few laughs, I dont think seriously this will happen. i read somewhere it would take four years to develop and suck everything on earth into it , that just got me thinking

Dude that would make a great friggin movie. I can imagine HP Lovecraft's Old Ones pouring out of the black hole and taking over, kinda like that scene in Hellboy.

Actually I hope something does happen. Man needs to be shaken up a bit, needs to be knocked off its high horse and humbled.

Raise your hand if your for monstrous, tentacled, creatures pouring out of a portal in December of 2012.

This certainly adds a little more validity to the "Cthulhu 2012" Presidential campaign. Why vote for a lesser evil when you can vote for the greatest evil of them all!
