I realize that this is rather late but tonight I host Robert Hastings and Robert Salas and we will dissect UFOs and overflights of Nuclear Bases. This should be a really GOOD ONE and one that I have been looking forward to. 10:00 PM Pacific to the Witching Hour, on the East Coast, 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM Eastern. Be there!

I'm pretty sure that you'll see me on Dark Matters again one of these days. It's nice to be on shows where the hosts are knowledgeable about the subject, like Don (and Gene here on the Paracast, or my good pal Greg at Radio Misterioso), and where the conversation isn't all about them, but rather about the actual subject.

don't even get me started on these two, I was gonna have a rant about that on the show but called right at the end so didnt have time (like Mr Kimball i'm prone to the odd rant or two). A few episodes ago they were taking the piss out of the paracast as well and it really annoyed me. It wasnt as rude as with Zacharius but it was still mean spirited and 'playground bully'-like.
Stopped listening to them after that... they're just two idiots IMO, one with a silly embellished sleep paralysis story, the other with a god complex

The sad thing is that sometimes their show is not half bad, at least when the guest is talking. However, they are about as classless as one can get. Hilariously, their latest episode has them ranting about how all the infighting in the world of the paranormal is detracting from serious discussion... and then, after they trashed Don yet again, they vowed to leave all of the personality stuff behind. Hahahaha!!!

Good luck to them. They deserve each other. I'll stick with shows where the hosts are really concerned about having a good discussion, and not about putting themselves over, or gratifying their ego.

And yes, if you took their stories and stuck Steven Greer's name in place of theirs, they would be roundly ridiculed... which makes their ridiculing of the likes of Greer hypocritically amusing.

I've been listening to this show over the past couple of days. It's my favourite kind of interview (good conversation) and the subject is grounded in reality. Hastings and Salas sound convincing and don't drift away into the mystical areas of Ufology that I find hard to swallow.

I listen to shows as good as this very slowly. Some accounts or remarks set my imagination alight and cause me to miss large tracts of the show so I keep rewinding back. :)

The apparent UFO connection to nuclear weapons and facilities is a frequent one and creates a lot of questions. We can't really substantiate the claims of flying saucer UFOs prior to the 20th Century. They seem to show up in that form around 1947 with people attributing it to the 'atomic age.' Maybe they're right? If they are, it begs the question of how they knew? How could they tell that we'd entered a nuclear age?

The Trinity tests were late '45. The radiation from these few tests had travelled less than two light years by '47. The nearest star is 4.4 light years away. If our tests were the flag, they must have been close already.

    Good points Kandinsky.

They would either have to have been close by or had a probe close by with FTL communications technology to alert them the moment the apes went nuclear. If they are farting around between the star, I'd hope they're quantum communications technology has also advanced. An interstellar empire based on radios and lasers would not be very impressive. :)

Also, there is the possibility that the detonation of nuclear weapons send out a signal faster than the speed of light, a signature which might be used to detect an artificial nuclear explosion. I imagine that one day our descendants might have to build such a device - and possibly destroy what they find with it.

Good points and yeah FTL communication would be pretty useful! Then again, perhaps there's an analogy between early mariners and space exploration? Perhaps the distance travelled eventually renders communication into a 'time capsule' with messages being received from years past. If the ETH is correct we should probably assume FTL travel and communication is achievable...or something similar.

I tend to suspect that we've been noticed by some form of Von Nuemman probes. The foo fighters and orbs/lights could be AI observers...hence frequency of reported sightings near tech. Just an idea.
