ISIS and Israel

America should not have destabilized Iraq to invade a 2nd time. Was Saddam Hussein so evil vs what is unleashed within Iraq since we invaded under false pretext? We were proven wrong. We're proven wrong more than a decade later. Why is this a never ending war?

Iraq under Saddam was NOT a radicalized religious nation. It was more modern and secular, though it took a hard core brutal dictator to rule Iraq. Saddam was an excellent counterpoint and counterbalance to Iran's radical religious jihads, so these two nations stalemated each others powers in opposition to each other.

Leave it to our MIC and "special interests" to screw-up what was a good stalemate to maintain the "status quo" in the Middle East. Don't forget that Syria was a secular nation too before all the recent religious radicalization and civil warfare. Should we be involved in that too? Taking sides? Why?

Revolutions in the Middle East are not likely to have outcomes that are secular promoting religious freedom and individual rights. How stupid can we be? We only play into the hands of any and all radicals, especially the religious, when the Americans are getting involved. We have no business having CIA and military advisers on the ground stirring up trouble in Syria. Iraq already proves we totally screw-up "the occupation", because Iraq does not stand on its own protecting the rights of its citizens. We failed. Why?

We could have used drones to take-out the criminals destroying the historical sites. These could have been guarded under international agreements.

I recall vividly the few interviews that actually got on the air at the time of the first Iraq incursion under Bush (a time of tremendous pressure on the media to come-to-heel - some journalists lost their jobs because they dared openly criticize the action - Phil Donahue comes to mind, he lost his show as a direct result of openly questioning the war - it was a nasty time). The interviews I recall were interviews with those who understood the region - a General here and there - and they pretty much prognosticated everything that happened. Your summary was what they said would happen.

How did the Bush administration handle the dissenters? They got people fired. They purged the CIA of everyone who had any knowledge of any kind, anyone capable of naysaying what the Bushites wanted to do. They wanted free reign and they got it. I was living in Washington D.C. when it was happening. Unbelievable what was done. Operatives with years of intel knowledge were out-on-the-streets - kicked to the curb. For a while we had no one in the service who even spoke the languages of the region - insanity - they'd all been fired. Crazy. People forget what deep-shit this country was in after the stolen election of 2001 (and it was stolen). People forget the fear-mongering that went on after 9/11 and for years afterwards.

The expected result of a new coalition government in Israel’s Knesset on March 17, headed by a new prime minister who really wants a political settlement with the indigenous Palestinian people – now numbering over 5 million – is the fervent hope of so many Jewish communities around the world in Paris, London, NY and LA – and, yes, also in Tel Aviv, Bat Yam and Herzlia.

They demand an end to Likud Zionism, extremism, the blockade of Gaza, illegal settlements and the killing of innocent civilians – some of which are currently being investigated by the UN as alleged war crimes. The failure of the Likud agenda is palpable throughout Israel as killings on both sides increases and security is tightened amidst talk of a third intifada.

Critically also, anti-Semitic incidents around the world have risen at an alarming rate as Jews everywhere are falsely seen as supporters of far-right, Likud Zionist policies. This has led to Judaism being erroneously equated with Political Zionism – and that has manifested in serious violence against both Jewish individuals and their communities, particularly in Europe. This is the reason why Mr Netanyahu and his Likud agenda need(ed) to be jettisoned in favour of a pragmatic political approach by a party that will bring a permanent peace to both peoples.

And that will conceivably also have a long-term, important effect on the Middle East, as a whole, by removing a resentment that has embittered the indigenous population since 1948 when it was considered politically expedient by the United States to allow the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinian Arabs from their traditional lands.

The Israeli war widow who is the reluctant overnight star of Israel's general election - Telegraph

I was listening to some news analysis yesterday evening. The comment made was that the young male Muslims in France are not interested in Jihad. They are more 'Frenchified' and interested in going to nightclubs than in Jihad. Apparently it is viewed as a 'problem' for the recruiters. These guys - the ones peddling death and slavery to medieval concepts - are more isolated than we allow.

Thats a good post Flipper, it wont end the extremism in the least to start with, but its a good start, if one generation can get to live in peace eventually, then you have an end to the 'hand me down hatred'.

Ms Weiss, you have been observing Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for many years now, an organization unknown to most Westerners. What is the OIC really, and what are its goals?
Deborah Weiss:
First, I want to thank you for inviting me to interview with Citizen Times. I appreciate your interest in this important and under-reported topic. The OIC is the second largest international organization in the world, behind only the UN and it is the largest Islamic organization in the world, claiming to represent 1.5 billion Muslims around the globe. It’s comprised of 56 UN Member States plus the Palestinian Authority, and they tend to vote together as a block. Essentially, it is the largest voting block in the UN.
It is an Islamist supremacist organization, which has the ultimate vision of achieving a worldwide Islamic State which recognizes no territorial boundaries, is ruled by a Caliph, and governs by Sharia law.

“If you criticize Islam, you will suffer consequences” | Citizen Times

In 1990, many of the OIC countries abstained from voting for the UNDHR, claiming that it does not take into account the cultural and religious context of Islamic countries. Instead, they proffered an alternative, called the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam. Though the OIC countries claim that this is a viable alternative to the UNDHR, in fact it really is not a human rights document in the true sense of the term.
First, it is not a religion neutral document, but asserts the superiority of Islam over all other religions. In so doing, it seeks what is in the best interest of the Islamic Ummah rather than the rights of the individual.
To the extent that it appears to list individual rights, all of the enumerated rights are expressly limited to the confines of Sharia law. Because Sharia law severely restricts many of the rights listed in the Cairo Declaration, what the Cairo Declaration gives with one hand, it takes with the other and they really aren’t rights at all.

However, in reality, it would always wind up being applied more often to Islam than to other religions because you just don’t see a situation where Jews, Christians or Buddhists go running to court if someone criticizes or insults their religion. Generally, they ignore it or answer back in a non-legal and non-violent way, like writing op-eds or letters to the editor to get their counter-view expressed. Unfortunately, the pattern appears to be that it’s primarily Muslims who are filing lawsuits, asking for protective legislation from speech against their religion, and committing violence in response to cartoons, videos or otherwise “offensive speech.”
I want to be clear that I am not saying all Muslims are doing this. I am merely saying that when this conduct occurs, it occurs within the Muslim community because it is part of their religion not to be permitted to criticize it. It is also part of their “religion” that non-Muslims should submit to this idea, which is tantamount to compliance with Islamic blasphemy codes.

Well, Europe is much farther advanced in the process of being Islamized. Parts of Europe have “no-go zones” which are Muslim enclaves that govern themselves by Sharia law. Many times police are afraid to enter those zones for fear of being attacked.
Additionally, there are parts of Europe where large numbers of Muslims just violate laws and the police just stand by and do nothing. For example, in London and France, sometimes large gatherings of Muslims will get together and pray in huge numbers outside blocking traffic in violation of zoning laws.
As I mentioned earlier, most EU countries already have some kind of laws providing deterrent punishments for “hate speech” or the like.
People think it can’t happen in America, but we are just around the corner. All it takes is the passage of hate speech laws and five Supreme Court judges who believe this is constitutional, even if they are wrong. People need to be vigilant about keeping their freedom. We are the last country left on earth that truly has it.

The Israeli war widow who is the reluctant overnight star of Israel's general election - Telegraph

I just love it how a tiny country with 0.2% population of the world is responsible for all the ills and plight of the entire world. Never mind all the beheadings, slaughter and abuse carried out by Muslim regimes to both Muslims and Non-Muslims in the Middle East and other parts of the world. Never mind the 3000 year old history and the tradition of Jews living in the land of Israel. Let's focus on the Arab resentment of something that happened over 60 years ago. Let's focus on the innocent civilian who yells 'death to the Jew' and 'death to Israel'. We all know how difficult it must be for any Muslim living in a free society of Europe and the United States, with all the freedoms and opportunities afforded by it, to succeed in the world knowing that this puny little country and its people continue to exist today.

LOL yeah lets ignore the OIC and its stated goal of a global caliphate and sharia law for everyone, thats not the real story

Israel: What Now, Bibi? — Early Election Takeaways
In the final days of the campaign, Netanyahu said twice that there will be no Palestinian state – not on his watch. But what alternative Bibi is offering? In two years, Israel will mark 50 years of military control over the lives of millions of Palestinians. The international community is more vocal in its demands for change, and the Palestinian Authority is more desperate than ever. Netanyahu won’t be able to blame the PA for the failure of the ever-lasting peace process when he himself declares that no matter what the Palestinians do, they will never gain their independence, nor will they become full citizens of Israel.

There is symbolic significance to the fact that Netanyahu openly campaigned on his opposition to Palestinian statehood. It means that he is backed by a majority of Israeli voters, and an absolute majority of the Jewish vote. There needs to be, and I think there will be, a debate on the implications of this decision by the Jewish public. For years we have been hearing that Israel will either end the occupation or cease to be a democracy. Could it be that the Jewish public has made its choice?

Palestinians do not want a 2-state solution. They've repeatedly proven it again and again. What they want is an entire land of Israel minus the Jews. How can anyone negotiate with an entity that is clearly committed to your death and destruction? It's an extremely complex and hopeless situation. They need to stop playing a victim game, recognize Israel's right to exist and start investing the billions of dollars handed to them (or whatever is left) into their infrastructure, schools, hospitals, businesses and etc... Show the world what you're capable of. Maybe then, if they can demonstrate that they can have a responsible government, there might be a chance to resolve this quandary.

With the large settlements there can be no two state solution, they must learn to get along.

Israel’s “Every Day Terrorism”, Crimes against Palestinian Children. For Hamza: Arms Sanctions Against Israel
A key player in the military industries told me that the operational testing in Gaza of Elbit’s BMS (Battle Management System – a special internet-like system for ground forces), a huge project worth $1 billion, has allowed Elbit to raise its price in a deal signed a year later with Australia. The same goes for Rafael. The company stated openly that it would capitalize on the escalation that preceded operation Pillar of Defense..A salesman for the IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries) told me that assassinations and operations in Gaza bring about an increase of tens of percentage points in company sales
