Introducing The Paracast+

I joined the Paracast+ a week ago or so and I am pleased with the results. The lack of commercials and the after show discussion make it worth the $50 per year.

Unfortunately we live in an era where people want everything for free. Cut out a few extras in your life and you can afford the 50 bucks.

I agree Dave. When I wasn't working full-time I still maintained full subscriptions to podcasts and magazines & never complained about the price. I value The Paracast & I still think $50 is too low.

Good news!

We're making progress. After a very long day's work by a friendly PHP developer, we've been able to add an RSS feed for The Paracast+ that will let you download episodes direct to your favorite podcast app, such as Downcast for iOS. It will take a while to list all the episodes — we have to do it manually until we can find a way to have it auto-update.

You'll find the link to the show feed in The Paracast+ forums among the download instructions, and it requires you enter your forum username and password in your podcast app to be able to get the shows.

It's not a perfect setup by any means, but we're still working on it. Your suggestions are welcome.

The RSS feed will genuinely transform my Paracast+ experience. Thanks for getting this sorted Gene.

Gene I'm not a Mac user but I do use itunes, is this a podcast app that I can use with the RSS feed or do I have to manually move it to the app?

For the PC or a mobile device? On iOS it's Downcast. You only need a podcast app that can read an encrypted RSS file, meaning you have to enter your forum username and password to open. If you have a choice of free apps, check the descriptions or just give 'em a try.

I welcome suggestions as to which apps work best.

Or (see below):

In iTunes you can easily add a podcast RSS feed URL by clicking on File in the Menu Bar and choose Subscribe To Podcast. Then just type (or Paste) in the RSS feed URL. DONE!

I was too lazy to type more out. I figured people could easily follow the prompts. Kudos to Gene for the full follow through.

I've found that my fave Android podcatcher, PocketCasts, can't handle this. Podcatcher Deluxe can, although it's a clumsier app. I haven't tried anything else.

I don't know where to post this exactly but I wanted to proudly (?) announce to The Paracast community that I have finally caught up with all past episodes and have officially listened to every single program since the show's debut in 2006! I first started listening in 2011 (or 2012) and just listened to the final episode I hadn't listened to, October 27, 2013 with the prolific Nick Redfern, this evening. PHEW!

So, what do I win? There's a big prize, right? It's not like I understand any of this paranormal phenomena any better than 3+ years ago...
